Apple's latest innovative device, the iPad Mini, was introduced at Tuesday's press conference in San Jose, California putting it in competition with other companies such as Amazon and Google. The latest product by the tech company is set to hit stores Nov. 2.

Apple's newer and smaller version of the iPad has a reduced screen size of 7.9-inches. However, the bezel around it has also decreased, but in width, allowing most users to hold the device in one hand.

The iPad mini's resolution sports a 1024x768 display. Although the picture is nearly the same as the iPad 2, Apple says it will still be clearer due to its smaller screen.

Similar to the iPhone 5, the iPad mini comes equipped with Apple's new Lightning connector, which replaces the classic 30-pin connector. It also has a 5mp iSight rear camera and is compatable with LTE cellular networks. The device also comes packed with a powerful A6 chip.

In terms of color choices, the iPad mini's options will be the same as the iPhone 5; black/slate or white/silver.

The starting price for the 16gb Wifi model of the iPad will be $329 while the most expensive version will go for a cost of $659 (64gb Wifi/LTE model).

Also unveiled at the Apple conference was the fourth-generation iPad, which will stick to the same dimensions as its predecessor, but will introduce a brand new A6x processor that is two times more powerful than its current iPad processor.

The regular sized tablet is also set for an updated display, which is said to be of higher quality than the Retina display seen in the iPad 3. The product will also feature an improved lighting connection. However, pricing for the latest device will remain the same, starting at $499 for the 16GB WiFi-only model.
