After a crucial 8-3 victory against the Detroit Tigers in Game 1 of the 2012 World Series, the San Francisco Giants will look to tally up another win in Game 2 on Thursday night. The first game of the Fall Classic was highlighted by a three homerun performance from Giants' third baseman Pablo Sandoval.

Sandoval, who went deep in the first, third and fifth innings had the following to say regarding the team's performance, according to CBS.

"We're still hot. We just came here and played our game."

Shockingly, Tigers ace Justin Verlander was knocked around for five earned runs in just four innings pitched while Giants' veteran southpaw Barry Zito threw a five solid innings of impressive ball, only giving up one run.

In Game 2 from AT & T Park, Detroit will send consistent starter Doug Fister (10-10, 3.45 ERA) to the mound against the struggling Madison Bumgarner (16-11, 3.37 ERA). While Fister has pitched extremely well this postseason sporting a 1.35 ERA, Bumgarner has been a different story. The pitcher currently has a postseason ERA of 11.25 as he's allowed 10 runs in just eight innings pitched. To top it off, opposing hitters have also gone yard three times against the lefty.
