Samsung Galaxy Note Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean Update Available Ahead of Release Date
A new Android 4.1.1, Jelly Bean ROM has now been made available for the Samsung Galaxy Note.
The new build leaked this week is a version of the official version that Samsung is developing called “XXLS2 firmware.”
The ROM can be found in the XDA forums.
So far reports have been good and it has been confirmed by most that the ROM is stable.
Meanwhile, it has also been reported that owners of the new Samsung Galaxy S3 can expect to have the multi-view mode that allows Galaxy Note 2 users to run two different apps side by side on the screen, as early as November. The build number for this firmware is I9300XXE.
That feature will reportedly come with the Android 4.1.2 JellyBean firmware update that is will roll out for the device sometime next month for most users.
The Galaxy Note 2 was released on all major U.S. carriers this week including T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, Verizon, Sprint and AT&T. However, all the companies released their very own modified versions of the smartphone-tablet hybrid, but they all should support 4G LTE.
Samsung hosted a major media event in NYC this week to promote the Galaxy Note 2, and featured music star Kanye West as the figure-head for the event. West performed some songs for attendees at the event, including "New God Flow," "Say You Will," and the summer smash "Mercy."
