Since their season opener victory over Michigan, No. 1 ranked Alabama has been on a tear and will look to continue their storybook NCAA season when they take on No. 11 Mississippi State on Saturday night. However, the Crimson Tide may very well be facing their toughest challenge yet against the also unbeaten Bulldogs. The winner of the matchup should become more heavily favored in their push for a trip to December's SEC Championship Game.

Dominant from the get-go, Alabama's biggest challenge came at the hands of Ole Miss on Sept. 29 when they overtook the program by 19 points. On defense, the Crimson Tide currently sports the nation's highest ranking for yards allowed per carry at 1.9, along with the second fewest passing yards per attempt at 9.98.

Mississippi State is coming off of a 45-3 blowout against Middle Tennessee. The Bulldogs appeared well-equipped for the on-coming Alabama defense and will lead its attack with QB Tyler Russell. The signal caller was 17-for-21 and threw for 191 yards and three touchdowns.

Mississippi State RB LaDarius Perkins didn't perform too shabby himself compiling his third straight 100 yard rushing game and fourth of the season. Perkins currently has a team leading 724 rushing yards along with 8 touchdowns. On the other side of the pigskin, CB Jonthan Banks tied a school record with his 16th career interception.

In the Crimson Tides matchup with Tennessee last week, QB A.J. McCarron threw for four touchdown passes in the team's 44-13 win. WR Amari Cooper was McCarron's primary target as he racked up 162 yards on seven receptions. RB T.J. Yelton also scored twice and rushed for 129 yards.
