There's a new report suggesting that Michael Douglas is allegedly going blind because of his tongue cancer treatments. Apparently, the Hollywood actor has been plagued with health problems ever since he was diagnosed with cancer nearly five years ago.

According to Closer Weekly on Friday, a report suggests the actor's "red, inflamed eyes" may be a result of glaucoma, a disorder that causes optic nerve damage that can result to blindness if untreated.

During the American Cancer Society event in New York City last week, an eyewitness said that the actor's eyes "looked severely inflamed and bloodshot."

The source said, "I wondered how he could see. It was frightening!"

Of course, Douglas himself has not responded to the rumors.

Just last month, Douglas said he's "feeling his best" these days.

In a new interview with ABC News back in April, Douglas says that he feels "lucky" to be acting in physically-demanding roles again after he lost nearly 40 pounds back in 2010 after he was diagnosed with throat cancer.

He said, "I was so lucky right after the cancer battle to have the 'Behind the Candelbra' experience, which was such a great package, great script, Soderbergh directing, Matt Damon. Combined with the fact that you know you've dodged a bullet."

He added, "I have a resurgence of energy and new appreciation for the work. I love what I'm doing."
