Hillary Clinton Instagram: Democratic Presidential Candidate Shares First PHOTO, See What She's Showing Supporters
Following the footsteps of her former boss, 2016 Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton has officially joined social media with her own official page.
Mere weeks after President Obama opened his @POTUS Twitter account, the former First Lady, New York Senator and Secretary of State publicized her official Instagram page, opening it to the public as she campaigns for the Democratic Presidential Nod in 2016.
In her first official post, Clinton appears to show a more humorous side to her personality, sharing a patriotic photo that also pokes fun at one her trademarks--the pantsuit.
"Hard choices," she captioned the shot, which features red, white and blue pantsuits on a garment rack.
According to CBS news, Clinton campaign officials say that the account will regularly show a more candid and personal side to Clinton as she uses it to engage with her supporters and fans.
It isn't Clinton's first foray into social media, with the Presidential hopeful also having official Twitter and Facebook accounts, where she occasionally posts for herself. Her Twitter bio famously lists several of the titles she has held over the years as well as less official and more personal ones, including " Wife, mom, grandma, women+kids advocate, FLOTUS, Senator, SecState, hair icon, pantsuit aficionado, 2016 Presidential candidate."
Though she is currently the most high profile Democratic hopeful, Clinton is up against Former Rhode Island Governor Lincoln Chafee, Former Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley, Former Virginia Senator Jim Webb, and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders. Chafee and O'Malley are the only other candidates to have Instagram accounts.
Of the Republican hopefuls, Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, Dr. Ben Carson, Texas Senator Ted Cruz, Former IRS Commissioner Mark Everson, South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, Former Kentucky Senator Rand Paul, Former Texas Governor Rick Perry, Florida Senator Marco Rubio, Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum and Donald Trump all have their own Instagram pages as well.
