When the presidential election was so close and GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney had reached the peak of his political career, nothing could be taken for granted.

Romney's campaign party was confident that he would be the President elect and even had a transition site ready and waiting to launch if the results went the way he had prayed and hoped.

Taegan Goddard of Political Wire obtained screen shots of Romney's transition website, which indicated that he was ready to get to work.

"President-elect Romney is working closely with his transition team to put together his administration to endure a smooth transfer of power on January 20th, 2013 and get to work for the American people," the "Cabinet" tab of the page said.

The transition website also showed that Romney intended to keep his campaign promise of repealing "Obamacare."

The site noted, "On his first day in office, Mitt Romney will issue an executive order that paves the way for the federal government to issue Affordable Care Act waivers to all 50 states."

"He will then work with Congress to repeal the full legislation as quickly as possible."

The Huffington Post reported that the site has been in the works "about 10 days before the election" and "had been turned over to the campaign and was 'all ready to go.'"

Romney's transition site was immediately taken down after reports of it surfaced.

President Obama was reelected on Nov. 6 with as much as 303 electoral votes to Romney's 206. The results of Florida's votes have yet to be finalized.

Romney conceded to Obama at 12:55 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7 at his Boston headquarters.

"I so wish- -I so wish that I had been able to fulfill your hopes to lead the country in a different direction, but the nation chose another leader," Romney said to his supporters.

"Paul and I have left everything on the field," he went on.

"We have given our all to this campaign."
