The mode is now live again for the week, running from 1 p.m. Eastern on Friday through to the weekly reset (5 a.m. Eastern) on Tuesday. Trials of Osiris challenges players to a more competitive 3v3 playlist with no respawns, and it does not offer matchmaking.
As such, your chances of success will depend on having a well-oiled Fireteam, ideally made up of friends or those you often play Crucible with. Skill is essential when there are only three players on each team-and tactically reviving your teammates plays a big role in the matches. Rewards are given based on performances: you buy entry into the Trials, and your run finishes when you either win nine games or lose three matches. A new vendor in The Reef, Brother Vance, sells tiered rewards that are only unlocked after reaching a certain number of wins.
Here's What Xur Is Selling This Weekend In Destiny
Win just two, and you can buy the Stone Tier reward package, with mode material prizes. The rewards go up to the Gold Tier package, available if you manage to win eight matches, with other packages and some gear awarded at three, five, six and seven wins. If you can be victorious in all nine games without losing a match, you'll gain access to The Lighthouse, an exclusive area on Mercury that holds a large chest filled with high-level rewards.
You must buy the Trials Passage item (this tracks your wins and losses on a card so you can see your progress) from Brother Vance to compete, and there are some buff items available as well. The Favor of Osiris will start you off with one win, the Mercy of Osiris will forgive your first loss. And if you win your next match, the Boon of Osiris will make the win count twice. Good luck out there, Guardians.
