The cast of Empire hit the stage for the BET Awards last night and it was one of the most talked about moments as it looks like Jussie Smollett might have confirmed his sexuality during the performance.

His television dad, Terrence Howard (who won Best Male Actor for his role as Lucious Lyon in the show) looked on proudly as he teamed up with Bryshere Gray also known as “Yazz The Greatest” for the epic show.

The two came out to "No Apologies" before Gray rocked the crowd with his hit "Drip Drop" before Smollett sang "You're So Beautiful."

Viewers might remember Smollett’s character Jamal Lyon came out to the public as homosexual when he sang the same song on the show and replaced, “This the kind of song that makes a woman love a man” with “This the kind of song that makes a man love a man.”

His switch-up made some wonder if that was his way of coming out.

Or was it just perfect timing to turn eyes to the Supreme Court decision that made same-sex marriage legal in all 50 states Friday?

“We live in a nation where freedom is what we represent yet we are stil fighting every day for basic freedoms for all of our people. Let the Supreme Court ruling be proof of how far we have come, let the death of our brothers and sisters be proof of how far we have to go. No one is free until we are all free.”
