The Houston Texans (8-1) will continue their pursuit towards an AFC South title repeat when they face the Jacksonville Jaguars (1-8) on Sunday afternoon. Tied for the NFL's best record along with the Atlanta Falcons, the Texans will look to rack up their fifth straight gridiron victory while the Jaguars aim to snap their franchise-record losing streak.

In a low scoring game last week, Houston prevailed by a 13-6 mark over Chicago in order to maintain their first-place post ahead of the Indianapolis Colts. Although the Texans were held to a season-low 215 yards, their juggernaut defense came up big, causing four turnovers.

Coach Gary Kubiak spoke to ESPN about his team's resiliency.

"The more ways you find to win in this league, you get more confidence. Things like that give you a chance to be a great team. There will be nothing false about what we are when we get there at the end because we've been in some tough decisions. And the more we handle them, the better we get."

Houston has given up averages of 281.6 yards and 15.9 points, second and third in the NFL respectively. In their last matchup on Sept. 16 against Jacksonville, the Texans prevailed by a score of 27-7, limiting the them to just 117 yards.

While the Texans have outperformed Jacksonville by a 13.5-point average during its series run, Kubiak won't be taking anything for granted in the game.

"We've got to get ready for a division opponent real quick. It's just a part of the maturing process if you want to be good enough to someday put yourself in the position to win a championship. I think we're growing up from that standpoint," he added.
