Clinton Falls Asleep During Speech? Obama Talks In Myanmar [VIDEO]
Hillary Clinton appeared extremely tired during a speech given by President Barack Obama in Myanmar on Monday.
Sitting in front row next to Nobel Peace Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi, the secretary of state is shown on footage dozing off a bit. At time of publication, the Youtube video had close to 5,000 views, though it was uploaded only yesterday. Some viewers commented on the video in defense of Clinton, saying, "poor thing. she works so very hard! it must be hard to be tired, and get punished for doing something that everyone else in the world does. give the woman a break. in fact..yeah..get that woman a much needed break. maybe with a nice cozy bed."
Clinton may be tired because of the going back and forth she has been doing this week trying to get Israeli and Palestinian leaders to agree to a cease-fire.
On Wednesday, the same day that a bus explosion in Israel's city of Tel Aviv injured at least 10 people, Clinton was in Israel talking with Prime Minister Netanyahu on ways to end the fighting in and around Gaza, with a Gaza truce on the table. That same day she traveled to Cairo to meet with Egyptian President Mohamed Mursi to discuss a possible truce in Gaza, Egypt's news agency reported.
Israel and the Hamas militant group agreed to a cease-fire Wednesday to end eight days of intense fighting and bloodshed on both sides, according to The Associated Press. Standing next to Clinton, Egypt's Foreign Minister, Mohammed Kamel Amr, made the announcement in front of reporters and said the deal was set to take effect at 9 p.m. local time. (2 p.m. EDT). Egpyt will play a major role in keeping peace in the region under the new agreement, according to the report.
