One of the biggest news in music arrived in the beginning of the year in the form of a new bundle of joy. Beyonce and Jay-Z, the music industry's hottest power couple, welcomed their first child, Blue Ivy Carter on Jan. 7 in New York City.

New York native and rapper Jay-Z recently preferred to take the MTA transit system than door-to-door car service and as a result, he ended up having a conversation with a woman on the subway who at first had no idea why other people were dying to take his photo.

Beyonce has been keeping fans in the loop through a series of photos on her Tumblr website, I Am Beyonce. The Houston native has taken up sharing intimate details of her life a notch by striking a deal with HBO to air a documentary she has directed, produced and filmed herself about her life. The cable network has released a 25-second preview trailer for the untitled film to give her fans a sneak peek of what to expect. In the footage, the "Love On Top" singer is on stage and her voiceover states: "I always battle with how much do I reveal about myself... If I'm scared, be scared... allow it... release it."

Beyonce and Jay-Z wished their fans a happy Thanksgiving by giving them a sneak peek of their 10-month-old daughter Blue Ivy. "From my family to yours," the "Love On Top" singer wrote in a handwritten letter to her fans.
