Day 3 of the 2012 Olympic Games had swimming finals for both men and women with plenty of gold, silver and bronze medals being handed out. France's Yannick Agnel got the gold medal in the men's 200-meter freestyle with a finish time of 1:43:14. Not far behind, with a 1:44:93 relay, was Korea's Taehwan Park and China's Yang Sun tying for the silver medal, resulting in no bronze medal being handed out.

Roger Federer beat Alejandro Falla in the first round on Day 1 of the London Games today. The Grand Slam title-winning Swiss athlete beat Falla of Colombia, 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 on Centre Court where he won his last Wimbledon title, his 17th just 3 weeks ago. He has just secured his place for the second round, getting closer to winning his first single gold medal.
