Sherman Hemsley, who rose to stardom when he played the very funny George Jefferson character on the 1970s hit television show "The Jeffersons," died as a result of a cancer mass on his lung. TMZ obtained the Postmortem report exclusively from the El Paso County Texas Medical Examiner's office near the actor's home The document lists the the primary cause of death as "superior vena cava syndrome," complications resulting from a mass on a lung.
