It has been a tough 2021 for Chrissy Teigen and John Legend as the former suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage, but they went on to build their relationship together which made them a stronger married couple for the sake of their family.

Speaking to The New Yorker, the "All of Me" hitmaker recalled the time when his wife suffered a miscarriage, saying it made them both stronger.

Even though both of them were broken at the time, it helped them bond, and hold one another for them to be each other's support system.

Initially, Legend said he was hesitant about sharing the miscarriage news with the world as it was very personal for him and his way. Still, he immediately changed his mind when he realized that it was important for Teigen because she wanted to start a conversation about losing a baby.

"What it did was open up more of a conversation among people who were afraid to share that kind of detail, who felt ashamed if they lost a pregnancy," Legend said about his wife's Instagram post. (via Billboard)

In early reports, the cookbook author shared shocking news to her millions of followers online as she revealed that she had lost their baby.

In the caption, as reported by the Washington Post, Teigen said they are shocked about what happened and they felt a kind of pain that they never really felt before.

Regarding the cause of death of their son, Teigen said they were unsuccessful in stopping her son's bleeding despite many bags of blood transfusions.

The baby died halfway through the model's pregnancy, and she revealed that her deceased son's name was Jack.

John Legend, Chrissy Teigen Expecting for a New Baby More Than a Year After Baby Jack's Death

The good news for the couple as Chrissy Teigen is pregnant again. John Legend said both of them are currently "guardedly optimistic" about their new baby as there is still fear in them.

However, despite being anxious, they're excited to welcome their new child.

Looking back at her late son, the EGOT winner said he's not going to fill the hole they felt when the baby died.

They look forward to meeting their new baby as he is a new person in their lives who will surely make them happy as a family.

"We'll still always carry some of that grief from Jack, but we'll just keep living and loving and finding joy in life," he added.
