'Battlefield 1' News And Updates: EA Play Livestream To Feature Massive 64-Player Battles [VIDEO]
Battlefield 1 fans will soon see the highly-anticipated game from the acclaimed franchise in action, as EA just confirmed that the upcoming game's first livestream would be featured at EA Play 2016. The livestream would begin at 5 p.m. EST on June 12, and will feature 64 players from around the world duking it out against each other in true Battlefield fashion.
"Excited to see Battlefield 1 in action? Tune in on June 12 at 02:00PM PT for Battlefield Squads, where 64-players will take part in the first-ever livestream of Battlefield 1 gameplay. Battlefield community members BATTLEFIELD FRIENDS - NOOB and StoneMountain64 will be serving as Team Captains, and their team rosters will include some of the most well-known YouTubers and Twitch streamers around, as well as a few special guests," the official statement read.
Considering that the exhibition would feature some of the most well-known players on the Internet, the 64-player livestream should surely be a battle both massive and awesome to watch.
What's even better is that EA is still offering up slots for fans to win a trip to Los Angeles and join the livestream live. According to the EA, all fans need to do is to follow the official Battlefield Twitter account, @Battlefield, and post a tweet with an embedded video explaining why they deserve to be enlisted for the event. For fans of the franchise, this is definitely a treat.
Battlefield 1 has created waves within the gaming community even before it was released. With the franchise being known for its no-nonsense approach to the FPS genre, as well as its rather more mature fan base as compared to its rival, the Call of Duty series, Battlefield 1 had very big shoes to fill. During the months leading up to the game's reveal, numerous rumors emerged about the title, ultimately culminating in the confirmation that the new game would be pursuing a rather unique World War 1 theme.
Considering the reaction of critics and fans alike to the game's trailer, however, it does seem like the game has, just like its predecessors, continued to impress.
Battlefield 1 is set to be officially launched on Oct. 21. Players with EA/Origin Access membership would be able to play the game as early as Oct. 18, however.
