'Days of Our Lives' (DOOL) Spoilers: Kayla Further Breaks Steve's Heart [VIDEO]
They've been through a heart-wrenching experience as they tried to recover their runaway son from California, but Steve (Stephen Nichols) will learn that their ordeal hasn't helped in his quest to win back Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) on Days of Our Lives.
The two worked together to locate Joey (James Lastovic) after he ran away with Jade (Paige Searcy), and after finally locating him at her aunt's compound in California, they then suffered a blow with another teen at the commune turned a gun on everyone and held them hostage, with the situation ending when he shot Joey. They later learned at the hospital that he would thankfully survive the gunshot wound and wasn't about to die, and they grew closer as the trauma unfolded.
However, now, with their emotions finally more in check and the situation more clear-cut, Steve will learn that Kayla is still hesitant to rekindle their romance and relationship again. She called off their engagement after the issues stemming from Steve taking the fall for Joey when he killed Ava, convinced that Steve's lifestyle and decisions were too dangerous for her and their teenaged son. But now, despite his helping find their runaway son, the situation will only prove Kayla's point more, and she will be even more sure they can't make their relationship work as a result.
Steve will be devastated that she still doesn't want to move forward, and will then decide to continue doing whatever he can to prove to Kayla that their future needs to be one where they are together.
Meanwhile, a still recovering Joey will have a surprise visitor when Jade arrives at his hospital bedside to see him. And though his parents are still willing to take him back and let him learn from his mistakes, hers are less forgiving over her actions, and she will disclose that they've decided they no longer want anything to do with her, and she has nowhere to go if she heads back home to Salem. Now, in an attempt to save the girl he loves from a hard life, he may decide to approach his parents with the idea of her living with them.
Days of Our Lives airs Monday-Friday at 1 p.m. on NBC.
