Tom Clancy's The Division had all the makings of a runaway hit game. When it was launched earlier this year, many considered it as one of the finest entries in the third person shooter genre. Eventually, however, things turned sour for the franchise, with numerous bugs and glitches being reported by players.

The Failings of the Underground DLC

Thus, months down the road, the Tom Clancy's The Division transformed from one of the most lauded games of 2016 to one of the biggest disappointments of the year. Even with the release of Underground, the game's first paid DLC, the negative reception of the game remained. This was primarily because the DLC, just like its parent game, felt very half-baked and uninspired.

Ubisoft Massive Admits to Problems in Tom Clancy's The Division

In a recent State of the Game live stream, one of the game's community developers, Hamish Bode, fully admitted to the game's notable flaws. Over the course of the live stream, Bode confirmed something that the game's players have been noted for a while now -- the game is really riddled with problems. What was worse is that Bode's statements gave the idea that Ubisoft Massive, the game's developer, does no really have an immediate solution ready to address Tom Clancy's The Division's problems.

"There are issues with the game right now. You guys and us guys play the same game. We know because we still get shot in the face with like M870s and those sorts of things and it's frustrating. We totally get it," Bode said.

Bode, however, assured fans of the game that Ubisoft Massive is currently doing all it can in order to address the game's glaring issues as soon as possible.

Is the Future of Tom Clancy's The Division at Risk?

With all the problems in the game costing the title a significant number of its players, many fans of Tom Clancy's The Division are beginning to think that the franchise itself might be at risk. After all, the relative failure of its first DLC, Underground, has all but proven that fans of the title have grown tired and disillusioned with the game.

Then again, it might be too early to discount Tom Clancy's The Division as a completely failed title just yet. If Ubisoft Massive does indeed stay true to its word and address the game's innumerable glitches and bugs, there might still be hope for Tom Clancy's The Division.
