'Pokemon GO' Update: Minor Patch Released, Major Update With Legendaries Coming Soon? [VIDEO]
With millions of players actively playing every day, Pokemon GO has emerged to be the undisputed king of mobile gaming today. Despite the game still running into problems from time to time, its groundbreaking concept has nonetheless made the title into one of the most successful games of all time.
Major Update Coming?
It is no secret that Pokemon GO is far less engaging than the original Pokemon games for the Game Boy. With a number of popular Pokemon game features absent, such as trading and trainer vs. trainer battles absent from the game, the area for improvement in Pokemon GO is quite significant.
Thus, numerous fans of the game are speculating that Niantic would release a Pokemon GO update soon, with the addition of features like Pokemon trading to be introduced. If ever an update does come, however, there is a very good chance that Niantic would also tease fans with a number of new monsters to catch.
Legendary Birds to Come with Update?
With the game's upcoming update all but certain, there is a big possibility that Niantic would also make some much-coveted Pokemon, such as the three Generation 1 Legendary Birds, finally available for capture. Unlike what most hoax videos would have fans believe, however, the manner of catching Articuno, Moltres and Zapdos would probably be far different than usual.
Many fans have weighed in on how Niantic would probably introduce Legendary Pokemon into Pokemon GO. Amidst all the speculation, an idea from the Twitter account Pokemon GO News has brought forward a very viable theory as to how the Legendaries would be introduced and captured.
Capturing Legendary Birds - An Idea for Niantic
The idea states that capturing a Legendary bird would start with the player's respective gym leader summoning the players to a local Pokestop over alleged sightings of Articuno, Moltres or Zapdos. Upon arriving at the location, players would then be tasked to collect special items called Feathers, which are then presented to the gym leader.
Once the appropriate number of Feathers have been collected, the player's respective Legendary Bird (Articuno for Team Mystic, Moltres for Team Valor and Zapdos for Team Instinct) lands in the gym and the player would be tasked to battle it. If the players are able to win the battle, the gym leaders would then give a special Pokeball to capture the Legendary Birds.
Pokemon GO fans have reacted very positively to this theory, as it echoes much of the mechanics already present in the game. Niantic has already introduced interactions with gym leaders in a recent patch. Thus, the gym leaders' roles in future updates are all but certain.
