'Pokemon GO' Gen 2 Update: Legendaries, Trading System & New Incense Types To Be Introduced? [VIDEO]
A recent discovery found in the source code of Pokémon GO has confirmed that upcoming updates would soon include Legendary Pokemon, a Trading System, and a number of new Incense types.
Though the resourceful souls who have combed through the game's codes have not been able to find any references to Trainer Battles, the upcoming inclusion of trading and the introduction of Legendary Pokemon are enough to sate the appetite of avid Pokémon GO fans.
Legendary Pokemon is Coming to Pokémon GO
A particularly interesting line of code has been found in the latest iteration of Pokémon GO. Prior to the update, Niantic has used the conventional activity_catch_pokemon code in the game. In the game's latest update, however, a new code has found to have appeared -- activity_catch_legend_pokemon.
With this discovery, it is safe to assume that upcoming updates to the hyper-popular augmented reality mobile game would imbibe players with the capability to catch the Legendary Generation 1 Pokémon. Thus, it would only be a matter of time before Articuno, Moltres, Zapdos, Mew and possibly even Mewtwo, would be available for capture.
Pokémon Trading to Arrive Soon
A number of codes have also been found in Pokémon GO that reference a very robust trading system. Trade_search, Trade_offer, Trade_response and Trade_result all point to one thing -- Niantic seems to be developing a full-fledged trading marketplace for Pokémon GO players.
In fact, the codes Trade_offer and Trade_response appear to be referring to not only Pokemon. Thus, it is highly possible that once the Trading System finally gets released in Pokémon GO, it would enable players to not only trade Pokemon, but items such as lures and Master Balls as well.
Incense Types Expanded
The Pokémon GO code also revealed a number of new variations for one of the game's most iconic items, the all-important Incense. Pokémon GO would be releasing three new types of Incense soon, as referenced by the codes Item_incense_spicy, Item_incense_cool and Item_incense_floral, that were found in the game.
Considering the codes, it is possible that these new types of Incense would be designed to attract specific types of Pokemon, with Spicy Incense attracting Fire and Lightning, Cool Incense attracting Water and Ice and Floral Incense attracting Bug and Grass Pokémon.
While the actual release date of these new features remains unknown at this point, Pokémon GO fans are nonetheless ecstatic with the discovery. After all, with Legendaries and a full-fledged Trading System in the works, Pokémon GO would finally be a lot more like the Pokémon games everyone knows and loves.
