'Pokemon GO' News: Third-Party Trackers Struggle To Stay Alive, PokeMesh Keeps Up Fight [VIDEO]
Pokemon GO is starting to gain back its rhythm, after the successful rollout of the Buddy System and the release of the Pokemon GO Plus wearable device. However, one particular aspect of the game has continued to be a point of frustration for players across the world - Pokemon tracking.
Since the official in-game tracker was shut down by Niantic during the first few weeks of the game, numerous third-party tracking apps have taken the mantle to provide players with the services they need. With the developer's ban hammer constantly a threat, however, the future of third-party tracking apps remains uncertain.
FastPokeMap, Other Trackers Struggle To Stay Alive
Numerous great third-party trackers have already emerged over the last few months, such as PokeVision, which millions of Pokemon GO players lauded for its accuracy and simplicity of use. Such services, however, were quickly shut down by Niantic. Other trackers such as FastPokeMap have emerged after the shutdown of PokeVision, but even these trackers are at risk of being shut down.
Nevertheless, the developers of third-party trackers such as FastPokeMap are not giving up without a fight. Despite the threat of Niantic's ban hammer hovering above its day-to-day operations, FastPokeMap and a slew of other third-party trackers have struggled to stay afloat.
PokeMesh Keeps Up The Fight
One notable third-party tracker that has gained popularity in recent weeks is PokeMesh, which many fans of the popular augmented reality game have lauded for its simple to use interface and its accuracy. The developer of PokeMesh has been very resilient over the past few weeks, implementing update after update in order to make the tracker better and far more difficult to shut down.
However, PokeMesh has one notable weakness. In its current version, at least, the reliable third-party tracker, which might very well be the next FastPokeMap after the latter gets shut down by Niantic, is exclusive to Android players alone. Thus, iOS players have no way of accessing the third-party tracker, at least until another update rolls out.
