Everything you need to know about LG V20; release date, spec, features and more
The release of LG V20 will try to resurrect the less than stellar performance of the Korean smartphone brand for the past couple of years. Find out when its date of release is and where the model can be preordered.
The sales of LG smartphones in the US have been dwindling even after producing competitive flagships for the past years. The reason for this may be attributed to the fact that Samsung and Apple have been eclipsing almost all other brands in the market.
However, the South Korean company is hoping to turn the tides around with the upcoming release of the LG V20. iTech Post said that the flagship will be available in the country starting Oct. 21. On the other hand, T-Mobile has yet to confirm an official release date for the V20.
B&H Photo is allowing preorders for the LG V20. Originally, the company scheduled the start of preorders on Oct. 2. However, it then changed the date to Oct. 17. Starting at 12 midnight on the said date, customers will be able to place their order for the latest LG smartphone model.
For those who still don't know much about the V20, Christian Times mentioned that the flagship will be the first smartphone to support LTE band 66. This means that the phone will be able to use either the AWS-1, AWS-3 or AWS-4 spectrum.
For almost 5 years now, most smartphones only utilize AWS-1. However, with the V20, there are now more than one spectrum to choose from when using the LTE band 66.
In addition, T-Mobile users will be able to use the triple-carrier aggregation LTE network, 256QAM. Based on studies, this type of LTE can boost the speed of the connection up to 400Mbps granting that it is merged with Band 2, Band 4 or Band 12.
The initial run-throughs in the Big Apple clocked the speed to up to 180 Mbps, this is superfast by mobile network connection standards.
Before the year ends, T-Mobile plans to put up AWS-3 sites. This only means that customers who are looking to buy the LG V20 will be able to benefit the most from this specific feature of the smartphone.
