‘Star Wars Episode 8’ Spoilers & Cast News: Warwick Davis confirms appearance; Harrison Ford to return?
Many fans are excited in the upcoming "Star Wars Episode 8" and updates on the cast and plot has been spreading online. This will be a sequel following the events from last year's "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" and it is expected to be released late next year.
NME reported that "Harry Potter" star Warwick Davis is joining the film. Although he confirmed his appearance, the actor did not reveal anything about the nature of his role.
The Independent also asked him about the new trilogy and Davis compared Episode VII to "The Empire Strikes Back." He added that fans should expect some "impactful story moments" and the film will also leave some cliffhangers which will be resolved in Episode IX.
Davis already appeared in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" as Wollivan who is a tavern-dweller in Maz Kanata's castle. He also previously appeared in "Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi "as Wicket W. Warrick who is an Ewok helping Princess Leia. In the upcoming film, it is expected that he will play a new role.
Meanwhile, Headlines & Global News reported that there are rumors that Harrison Ford might reprise his role as Han Solo in the new film. In the show "Jimmy Kimmel Live," Ford teased to Jimmy Kimmel the possibility of his return in the eighth installment. When asked if Han Solo is ever coming back to the franchise, he pretended to lock his lips and throws away an imaginary key.
Many fans consider Ford's secrecy as a possibility that his character is set to return to the franchise soon. However, some also think that Ford might just be teasing the fans. As of writing, there is still no confirmation about his return, so, fans would have to wait for an official announcement.
"Star Wars Episode 8" is set to be released on December 15, 2017.
