Sony Camera A6500 and RX100 V release date, specs, price, features, and more
Sony is realizing a new upgrade to their existing compact camera models in the next few weeks. It can be expected that these new models will be a bit pricier but it assured value for money.
The first compact camera is the RX100 V which is the fifth generation of the RX100 model and just like its price, the capabilities has also increased. Tech Crunch reported that the new V has a sped-up autofocus system at 0.5 seconds. The company claims that it is now the world's fastest.
Another interesting feature of the camera is the addition of the 24 frames per second shooting in 20-megapixel RAW+JPEG for up to 150 shots. This means that the camera can shoot raw videos at 24 fps for 6 seconds at a time.
The camera is said to be powered by a 20.1-megapixel 1-inch sensor and an image processor. According to Sony this feature enables the camera to handle real-time noise reduction. Aside from that, it also has an electronic shutter that is capable of hitting a maximum speed of 1/32,000th of a second. This camera would be perfect to shoot moving objects.
Meanwhile, the a6500 which is the upgrade of the a6300 is another highly capable camera. Engadget reported that the A6500 flagship mirrorless has a 24.2-megapixel APS-C sensor with 11-fps continuous shooting. This means that it can provide over 300 frames in just a single shutter press. The camera also comes with in-body 5-axis image stabilization.
The exterior of both cameras are not that different from their predecessors since the button placements are unchanged. They are also lightweight and are made out of metal.
The Sony RX100 V is expected to be available in the market next month for $1,000. On the other hand, the Sony A6500 is expected to be available by November at $1,400.
