In winning, there are many factors which contribute to the weight of the situation. Winning after a long time, or winning from a very close match on the last second really adds to the quality to victory.

Both these factors were in play when the Chicago Cubs won the world title. Apart from the fact that they waited entire generations until they gained the title again, they also won with a score of 8-7 against the Cleveland Indians.

According to the New York Times, the game was already nine innings after it rained for a short period of time. Up until now there was tension amongst the air as everyone was nervous as to what was going to happen.

During the tenth inning they took the lead due to two players. They went ahead by two whole runs thanks to Miguel Montero who contributed a single. Then the most valuable player in the series Ben Zobrist contributed a double.

This really pushed the cubs off the edge and gave them the advantage, but the game was not over yet.

It was the turn of the Indians and Rajai Davis scored a hit which put the Indians only one run behind the Cubs. Then on the next pitch Mike Montgomery hit a slow roller which was caught by the Cubs' Kris Bryant.

He immediately threw the ball to the first baseman from two bases across, Anthony Rizzo.

According to Major League Baseball the entire stadium went silent when the ball was being thrown and in the air. Once Rizzo caught it in his hand the Cubs' side of the stadium erupted in joy and this ended the game.

It is reported that fans stayed around the stadium and cheered for an entire hour. A victory well deserved and a cheer well indulged.
