‘The Young and the Restless’ cast news: An old character resurfaces; a new one comes to town
"The Young and the Restless" latest casting news has been revealed by soap opera's production team. Find out who will return and who the newest addition is to this CBS daytime series.
Beth Maitland returns to the set of "The Young and the Restless." Maitland is reprising her role as Traci, SoapHub reported.
Traci will be seen on the Nov. 17 episode. According to the report, she will play an important role in resolving internal issues of the Abbott family.
When Maitland was interviewed, she said, "She's here to be peacemaker."
Fans of the character are surely going to have a wonderful holiday because Traci will stay around for the Christmas season. She is set to appear in several episodes leading up to the most wonderful time of the year.
Along with Maitland, a new actress graces "The Young and the Restless" set for the first time. Erika Girardi, of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," joins the cast of the CBS soap opera. Her character is set to appear in the middle of December.
Girardi was in RHOBH with another Y&R actress, Eileen Davidson, who plays Ashley. Exact details about Girardi's character are yet to be revealed. However, fans can expect that the 45-year-old singer will share scenes with Davidson. Girardi will also have scenes with the biggest names in the soap.
Maitland joined the CBS serial in 1982. She became a series regular until 1996. In 1996, Maitland won the Daytime Emmy for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in Daytime Drama Series in 1985 for playing Traci. After 1996, Beth left "The Young and the Restless" but has been coming back every now and then to give life to Traci.
Meanwhile, Girardi only has a few acting jobs under her belt back when she was still Erica Chanoy. Mostly, she focused on her career as a singer.
