‘Descendants of the Sun’ Star Song Joong Ki Denies Gay Allegations; The Actor and Girlfriend, Song Hye Kyo Cancel Appearance in DOTS Season 2?
"Descendants of the Sun" stars, Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo, are still in love. However, rumors keep circulating that Joong Ki is gay, which the actor strongly denied. As regards their professional life, the couple are said to be bowing out of DOTS season 2.
The latest rumor surrounding Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo's relationship has people questioning the 31-year-old actor's sexuality. According to malicious reports, Joong Ki is gay and he is only using Hye Kyo to hide is true gender preference.
CSN reported that "The Innocent Man" star favors the company of his male colleagues more. He even admitted to inscribing Lee Kwang Soo's name in a stone during the filming of "Descendants of the Sun."
"I engraved Kwang Soo's name in a stone at the beach in Greece. It was the first time I ever did such a thing," Joong Ki admitted.
On the other hand, there are no concrete pieces of information that obviously proves that Joong Ki is homosexual. Even one source explained that this rumor is just as it is, highly speculative.
The South Korean actor only has one thing to say to this malevolent gossip. He said that netizens should focus on his acting career more than his personal affairs.
Speaking of Joong Ki's career, "Descendants of the Sun" season 2 production is still tentative. Joong Ki and girlfriend, Song Hye Kyo, who starred in the highly successful South Korean drama series allegedly declined to star in the sequel.
With the main actors turning down the opportunity, the producers of the series are now said to be thinking of cancelling the much awaited season 2 entirely. The production company states that finding replacements for the SongSong couple will be a difficult task.
There are no conclusive reasons as to why the South Korean power couple is declining the chance to return in DOTS season 2 but for some, it may be because of Joong Ki's hectic schedule. The actor is apparently returning to "Running Man" and his ties with "Train to Busan 2" will make it impossible for him to film another series.
The 34-year-old actress, however, may be bowing out of the second installment because she might find it problematic to star in the drama without her original co-lead.
