David Blaine tries catching bullets with mouth; death-defying stunt went wrong
Things didn't go the way it was planned for David Blaine's death-defying stunt on his November 16 show of "Beyond Magic", but the famous escape artist was able to trick death this time, making it still one lucky day.
Blaine was known for his exemplary card tricks and flawless magic which stuns his every audience, now adding a little more of the dangerous side as he holds live wires, goes on a high rise upside down and now catching bullets. The famous magician, illusionist and endurance artist never stops in making his stunts and tricks more dangerous and hard to copy by his competitors as it usually endangers his own life.
But the professional endurance artist made a lot of training before doing the bullet-catch stunt, which involves being shot several times in the chest while wearing a bullet-proof vest. Mail Online shares in a recent report how this training would help him withstand the force of the gun's impact and thus acquaints him to the feeling of being shot. However, on his actual show, he will be the one to pull the trigger by pulling a string attached to the trigger.
In an Eyewitness News report, the stunt went wrong when the bullet's impact broke the protective guard of his mouth holding the metal cup. Without showing any fear of dying, David Blaine thought that he was dead when he felt a sharp ring on his neck which he thought was the bullet going through his head. His assistants and medic were quick to respond when he felt the pain on the lacerated part of his throat and was forced to stop the show to bring David Blaine to the hospital. He was then cleared by the hospital with a minor cut on his throat within a few hours.
David Blaine knows no limits as he promised to do the same dangerous stunt on his first ever live tour.
