"A penny saved is a penny earned", this quote was once made famous by Benjamin Franklin and since then, Philadelphian's remember him on his grave by throwing pennies on top, a tradition believed to be bringing good luck. But as the pennies touch the gravestone, the impact causes it to crack, with every visitor dropping pennies; the crack on it grew longer, destroying his grave. Seemingly, the penny he thought would save something, has already done some damages, a good thing, though, more pennies are needed which is the key to its rehabilitation.

His grave lies on Christ Church in Philadelphia and the same Christ Church Preservation Fund has already launched a GoFundMe Campaign to raise $10,000 for repairing the long crack that almost dividing the gravestone into 2 pieces. WABC-TV reports that due to the usual tossing of pennies by visitors who knew of the good luck it will bring, the gravestone was damaged, apart from that, other factors like weather, calamities may have caused this to worn out. The authorities concerned hoped that the restoration is done before Franklin's death anniversary in April 2017.

With a huge effort to help, Jon Bon Jovi and his wife, Dorothea, generously gave in $5,000 in an instant, Tuesday afternoon. In a recent report by Rock107, the $10,000 mark for the Fund has already been reached and surpassed, currently standing at $11,200. Bon Jovi may have connected with the late scientist and politician in Philadelphia which is near his home state New Jersey.

Jon Bon Jovi's efforts will not be wasted as it will rebuild a history that has a big influence on what life is now. Benjamin Franklin deserves this due respect and honor as he has contributed much to the society. This is the right time to repay him more worthy than a penny's cost.
