'Tekken 7' Console Version Release Date Confirmed; Bandai Namco Unveils Official Details, New Trailer [Watch]
Bandai Namco Entertainment has finally made good on their promise to release their latest highly popular fighting video game, Tekken 7, to video game consoles this year. The company just recently announced that they would be releasing the previously arcade-only video game to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC on June 2.
The announcement itself also came with a big surprise as the company officially released a brand new teaser trailer for the console version of the highly awaited video game. The 2-minute trailer contains a lot of scenes that relate to several character's storylines, including the main rivalry between father and son, Heihachi and Kazuya Mishima.
The trailer also revealed to fans that those who will be pre-ordering the game will be getting Eliza as a bonus character on all platforms, as per a report from VG247. Additionally, pre-order buyers will be able to get a free copy of the previous title, Tekken 6, for free. However, the free copy is only available for Xbox One customers, thanks to Microsoft's backward compatibility program. PlayStation 4 buyers fortunately can also get their own unique exclusive content in the form of old-school costumes for Jin, Xiaoyu, and King.
Bandai Namco also recently revealed that the game will be coming with its own Season Pass. Season Pass holders will be able to access a total of three downloadable content (DLC) packs that will contain a variety of new characters, stages, game modes, and costumes. Each DLC can also be bought separately for those who don't want to get the Season Pass.
According to Forbes, Tekken 7 will be available in different packages, including a digital download version, a digital deluxe edition that will include the game and its Season Pass, and finally a collector's edition set which will include a steel book case, official soundtrack for the game, and a 12-inch tall by 18-inch wide statue of Kazuya and Heihachi in combat.
