‘Friends’ Reunion News, Update: Lisa Kudrow Admits She Is Open To Play As Phoebe Buffay Again
American actress and comedian, Lisa Kudrow, has recently admitted she's open to do the long-awaited "Friends" Reunion. But it seems like there is a catch if ever the highly anticipated get together would happen.
The 53-year-old actress, on her talk with People on its latest weekly issue, revealed that she is willing to play as Phoebe Buffay again. She would only do it, however, if there is more to know about her character and the other five remaining members of the gang. The actress then added she is fine if "Friends" Reunion has the "right story."
At this point, though, Kudrow admitted that "Friends" Reunion may or may not have the right story that it will tell to its fans. "You never know if the story's been told or if there's yet another story to tell," the actress told the publication. This was scary to the "Table 19" actress, considering that the whole show focused on the early lives of the characters.
They all have moved on after Chandler (Matthew Perry) and Monica (Courteney Cox) adopted the twins, and Ross (David Schwimmer) and Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) got back together. Joey Tribbiani (Matt Le Blanc), meanwhile, has hit it off in Los Angeles, California, as an actor in his unsuccessful spin-off show "Joey." As for Kudrow's Phoebe Buffay, she is happily married to her husband Mike Hannigan. These details may pose some serious problems - story-wise - if ever "Friends" Reunion does in fact happen.
"Are we interested in people in this phase of life? I don't know, that's probably a scary question," the actress continued on the interview. "The show wasn't about six people who have teenagers."
While Kudrow is pretty much in for the "Friends" Reunion, the other cast, however, are not exactly on board - at least for the time being. The actress has confirmed that the get together show is "off the table" at the moment. Further noting that Perry, Cox, Schwimmer, Aniston and Le Blanc have no plans to do the reunion, Unreality TV reported.
No official word yet coming from NBC about the "Friends" Reunion mini-series or episode. That being said, it is highly advisable for the fans to wait for further news and updates coming from the network.
