PDP Announces Recall of Energizer 2X Smart Chargers for Xbox One
PDP recalls all their Xbox One Energizer 2X Smart Chargers. The recall has been announced for they received constant reports of overheating. The smart chargers are also reported to causing damage to the console's controllers.
With the technological advancements, even gaming has been taken to a next level. The gamers have increased their population because of the regular evolvement in computing and video gaming consoles with their accessories. Chargers happen to be an important accessory which recharges up game controllers.
The controllers discharge away soon which demands to charge again. These days plenty of manufacturers are framing down more quick, smart and easy charging docks and results to such products are overheating, speedy deterioration and damages. Similarly, the Energizer 2X Smart Charger for Xbox One boasts faster-than-standard charging and is officially licensed by Microsoft for compatibility with Xbox One wireless controllers.
As mentioned in BGR, the Consumer Product Safety Commission and PDP received dozens of reports stating chargers is getting overheated than usual and charger's plastic us literally melting and deforming. Six reports also state that Smart Chargers are emitting a burning odor which warns for a serious fire risk.
No reports regarding human or property damage have not been mentioned. Such reports though less threatening has compelled to announce for a recall. The Verge stated that Energizer 2X Smart Charger for Xbox One was sold on every major retail platform like Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop and also acknowledged that approximately 121,000 units were sold in United State plus 7,250 in Canada and 2,560 in Mexico.
If we check out the 3,000 Amazon reviews, the users have rated it 4.3 out of 5-star rating. PDP is now working with Consumer Product Safety Commission to get off the charger from the market and user's home.
Venture Beat also reported that they have announced for the recall and also assures refund for the purchase price which was ranging between $30-40. PDP has requested all buyers and users to login on their website and to submit a ticket for requesting the refund.
It seems all charges are not causing troubles because they have asked to confirm with a label no. 048-052 NA for chargers with this label seems to be faulty. Anyways, gamers stop and turn up onto their website for returning the chargers.
