'Green Lantern Corps' Latest News & Updates: Casting Still in Question; Possible Director a Superhero Movie Veteran?
"Green Lantern Corps" is still a few years away from happening, and because of it, the questions on the cast and who can play the roles perfectly. That being said, fans have voiced out the possibilities on who will fit Hal Jordan, but John Stewart as well.
According to Den of Geek, one of the more important questions is that on who will be directing "Green Lantern Corps," and the rumored candidate is no stranger to superhero movies, as he is known on being the one behind "Blade: Trinity." This is none other than David S. Goyer, who also co-wrote other superhero flicks such as "Batman Begins," "The Dark Knight" and "Man of Steel." Other than that, Goyer is also banking on being the one to direct "Suicide Squad 2."
While the talks of recruiting people for "Green Lantern Corps" is still strong, the actors to play Hal Jordan and John Stewart stay lie in question. One of the most prominent candidates is that of Tom Cruise, partially for his veteran experience and another being of the best age to go alongside the supposed timeline of the movie. By this time, he will be mentoring the new Green Lantern, John Stewart, and while there are already potential actors to play Jordan, the latter is still vacant.
Some reports look at the likes of Trevante Rhodes from "Moonlight" to play John Stewart, but such is only an idea for the time being. The actor has not spoken on anything regarding the matter just yet, and while the position is still open, fans are still free to speculate on who else will work well for "Green Lantern Corps."
The DC flick is slated to release on 2020, with very little details known for the time being. Other speculated actors include Armie Hammer, Jake Gyllenhaal and Bradley Cooper, all of which are recognized in the industry.
