"Gotham City Sirens" is still in trouble when it comes to casting, given that Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn is the only sure actress. The other two -- especially Poison Ivy -- have such strict standards in terms of an on-screen interpretation, but now, one actress may fit the bill.

According to Cinema Blend, one of the recent names to float around is that of actress Jessica Chastain, who as of the moment will star in the flick "The Zookeeper's Wife." As there are some issues to consider before anyone gets cast, Chastain expressed her enthusiasm in playing Poison Ivy for "Gotham City Sirens," as well as to why it would work well for her.

Chastain said that she tolerates female characters who are strong and set examples, making sure that they are seen as subjects, not "objects." She says that if that will be the case in "Gotham City Sirens," then she is all in for the project. One of the other actresses being considered-and immediately resounded-is Megan Fox, and while the "Transformers" actress continues to be a fan favorite, it is yet to be confirmed. Nonetheless, Chastain is only one of the people on the extensive list, and Catwoman is still one that needs to be filled up.

It can be recalled by many that the first and last live-action interpretation of Poison Ivy was that of Uma Thurman in "Batman and Robin," which highlighted the character's main points, but with a lighter tone. In the coming rendition, it is yet to be revealed as to how she will be portrayed, and with the staple being established by Thurman, the over-sexualized norm may be retained. Apart from the titular novel "Gotham City Sirens" novel, Poison Ivy is indeed known for being one to make use of her sexuality to lure her victims, including Batman himself.

No release date has been given for "Gotham City Sirens" just yet. Robbie's Harley Quinn is confirmed on returning, coming from her rendition in 2016's "Suicide Squad."
