Emily Blunt Shares Story That Proves John Krasinski Loves 'The Devil Wear's Prada'
There's nothing quite like a husband's support, especially John Krasinski's, whose wife, Emily Blunt, says has watched her film Devil Wears Prada over 70 times.
On Blunt's Work And 'Devil Wears Prada'
It's easy to imagine someone falling in love with the 2006 film starring Blunt, Anne Hathaway, and Meryl Streep. It's not even a stretch to assume that many has watched it multiple times. Krasinski, for his part, takes it to another level.
In an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, the couple talked about the start of their relationship and whether or not they knew each other's work before they met.
It turns out that while Blunt was not aware of Krasinski, the actor-director was already a fan of his wife's work long before they began dating.
"I was full stalker status," Krasinski admits to Graham Norton on April 6, miming looking through a binoculars. "I was just like, 'Hey, you wanna go out on a date with me?'"
In particular, he really enjoys one of the first movies that launched Blunt's career: Devil Wears Prada. When Norton asks how many times the director-actor has seen the film, he doesn't even hesitate in answering.
"Give or take 72," Krasinski admits, chuckling and adding that it's a movie he used to channel surf.
Blunt chimes in, saying she once walked in on her husband watching the movie, and it was a montage scene where Hathaway's character was trying on a series of different outfits.
"He was watching the montage bit and he goes, 'And that's my favorite outfit,'" she recalls to laughter from the audience.
In a recent interview with Variety, Krasinski reiterated his love for Devil Wears Prada, saying it is likely that he's watched it around 70 times since it's shown on cable a couple of times a day. He says that he's even watched it with Blunt a few times.
On Working Together
While the pair enjoy each other's works, they recently worked together in Krasinski's directorial project A Quiet Place. While the couple admits they were terrified in the beginning, it worked out for the best.
"It's the greatest collaboration I've ever had in my career," Krasinski says.
"I've never seen her work," he explains. "When you're actually in the room when she does what she does, honestly it just changes the air in the room. Everyone is just completely and totally stunned by what she does."
A Quiet Place wowed the critics and currently has 96 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
