Courteney Cox ‘Tried to Chase’ Youthfulness Through the Years But the Unthinkable Happened: ‘I’ve Got to Stop'
Courteney Cox was one of the most recognizable actresses during her peak in the late 90s, and it seems like she wanted to retain her physical look by going through cosmetic procedures. Today, the actress is looking back at what she did and has a significant realization.
Speaking to the Sunday Times Style magazine, the 57-year-old star revealed she underwent "injection" procedures in hopes of stopping her age.
The "Friends" actress said there was a time when she felt her physical appearance was changing as she got older, so she "tried to chase" that youthfulness.
However, she reflected and realized that she looked "really strange with injections and doing stuff to my face I would never do now." (via ET Canada)
At that moment, Cox knew she had to stop because it felt "crazy."
This was not the first time the "Masters of the Universe" spoke about the cosmetic procedures she underwent in the past, as she previously revealed her relationship with fillers.
In an interview with People Magazine, the actress noted that as she's aging, she's starting to embrace her authentic self with what God has given her, not what she was trying to change with her face.
Cox added, "I kind of own everything. And the things that I am not as comfortable with myself, they're things that I continue to work on to grow and change,"
The mom of one also got vulnerable in a previous interview with New Beauty, saying she struggled with aging in the industry because she felt like she was still 34 before realizing it "doesn't seem natural."
Her face started to become unrecognizable when she went to a doctor. Despite telling her she looked great, she decided to get "a little injection" or filler, but it got layered and layered through time.
"You have no idea because it's gradual until you go, 'Oh ****, this doesn't look right,' " she added.
Speaking about her age as she's turning 60 in a few years, the actress said she couldn't believe it as time flies so fast.
Cox noted how she's more grounded than she ever felt but still feels young because she's surrounded with younger friends and felt like they're the same age until she "actually study it."
