[Video] Jonathan Goodwin Accident Update: 'AGT: Extreme' Contestant Faces Near-Death Experience
Jonathan Goodwin received the best birthday gift ever months after the "AGT: Extreme" accident happened.
Goodwin showed the world he is still alive and kicking through an Instagram post on Sunday, revealing that he was finally released from the hospital after facing an on-set accident in October.
The 43-year-old stuntman shared the good news with a sweet photo of himself and his fiancée, Amanda Abbington.
"Four months later... finally out of the hospital. My birthday today... can't think of a better way to spend it than with my love," he captioned his post.
His fans and friends flooded the post with Happy Birthday messages as they continued to wish him well during his next recovery period.
It marked his first post since updating his followers on October 20 where he shared his thoughts and feelings after his near-death experience. At that time, he thanked everyone for their "outpouring love" which helped him recover.
What Happened to Jonathan Goodwin?
His social media return came after Goodwin got sandwiched between two cars while he was suspended 70 feet above the ground.
A viral video showed how he failed to free himself from his suspenders before the vehicles collided. An explosion happened before missing the mattress and hitting his head.
At that time, a spokesperson for "AGT: Extreme" confirmed that he was responsive when he was rescued. Goodwin was then airlifted to the hospital, where he received treatments. People who witnessed the whole stunt assumed that Goodwin might have suffered from neurological trauma, as well, due to his impact on the ground.

A 911 call from the set also recorded the tragic accident. As published by The Sun, a woman described Goodwin's situation as "agonal and posturing." The terms are being used for patients who are near death.
In addition, an AGT spokeswoman detailed to Deadline what occurred during the terrifying accident.
"During a rehearsal last evening for America's Got Talent: Extreme, an accident occurred in which escape artist Jonathan Goodwin was injured while performing his act. He was responsive and was immediately taken to the hospital, where he is continuing to receive medical care," the spokesperson said.
The accident was not expected at all, especially since the daredevil tried his act somewhere in Atlanta and showed pictures of cranes and cars he used during the practice.
