Meghan Markle's New Interview Puts Her In Trouble With Netflix, Spotify — Here's Why
Meghan Markle has utilized her platform to discuss abortion rights with feminist Gloria Steinem.
However, a royal observer believes her recent Vogue interview over the Roe v. Wade decision would have Spotify and Netflix executives "pulling their hair out" in despair.
Despite having previously given her view to Vogue, the Duchess of Sussex has yet to release any new content on Spotify or Netflix, with which she has multi-million dollar commitments.
Kinsey Schofield, a podcaster and pundit, claimed that the "entire world" had been patiently waiting for Meghan Markle's promised podcast and even questioned why the former royal chose to talk with another publisher instead.
"The whole world has been waiting for this lady to publish a podcast that promises to 'dissect, examine, and disrupt the categories that aim to keep women back," Kinsey tweeted.
"If I were Spotify or Netflix," she said, "I'd be ripping my hair out."
"My point is that if she meant it, she might have utilized that platform to further her cause. Why is Vogue important? What about association?"
Meghan Markle discussed the Supreme Court's decision to repeal Roe v. Wade with Steinem and writer Jessica Yellin.
She made a strong stance about abortion rights, describing it as a matter of "women's bodily safety."
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have inked major deals with Spotify and Netflix.
As part of the agreement, the Duchess of Sussex started her podcast "Archetypes," which will examine the labels and prejudices that women confront in the modern world.
Their arrangement with Spotify was believed to be $33 million, with only one episode recorded and published in December 2020.
However, they plan to release their Invictus Games documentary on Netflix later this year.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Should Abandon Titles
A royal historian has recommended Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to forego royal titles in favor of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
"If you look at other members of the family or peers or heir to peerages; Beatrice and Eugenie do not use their titles in their occupations - on their work websites it's Beatrice York, Eugenie York," Marlene Koenig told Express UK.
She believes the pair should use Meghan or Harry Sussex because "there is so much precedence for it, especially in the United States."
