King Charles And Queen Camilla Enjoy A Romantic Getaway After 19th Wedding Anniversary
It's time for a regal retreat!
King Charles and Queen Camilla were spotted embarking on a private jet, en route to their secluded Scottish residence for a tranquil escape.
Following their 19th wedding anniversary celebrations earlier this week, the royal couple arrived at Aberdeen Airport on Wednesday. From there, they were swiftly transported to Birkhall, their serene Highland getaway nestled within the Balmoral Estate.
The duration of the couple's much-needed respite remains uncertain; however, given the tumultuous beginning to the year for the family, Charles and Camilla are expected to cherish this opportunity for some quality time together.
King Charles's affection for the luxurious Birkhall estate, nestled along the picturesque banks of the River Muick, is widely known, often seeking solace in its serene surroundings whenever his schedule permits.
"It is such a special place, particularly because it was made by my grandmother. It is a childhood garden, and all I've done, really, is enhance it a bit," the king said to Country Life regarding the estate's gardens.
Additionally, the estate holds sentimental significance for both King Charles, 75, and Queen Camilla, serving as the idyllic setting for their honeymoon following their union in 2005. Establishing a cherished tradition, the couple has since commemorated each anniversary at the estate.
Having exchanged vows on April 9, 2005, the royal pair celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary on Tuesday.
As King Charles continues to undergo cancer treatment, Queen Camilla, 76, has assumed his duties, dutifully representing the royal family at various engagements in recent months.
