Clint Eastwood, 93, Makes Rare Public Appearance To Support Friend Jane Goodall
Clint Eastwood, who is rarely seen in public, was spotted at an event where his good friend Jane Goodall was invited to speak.
The 93-year-old Hollywood actor and director made a rare public appearance last month to support Goodall at the "Reasons for Hope" seminar. The event was reportedly held in his adoptive hometown, Carmel-by-the-Sea, according to the Daily Mail. However, it wasn't clear if he also spoke at the event.
In the photos obtained by Page Six, the two were spotted seated on separate chairs beside each other and appeared to be chatting. The snaps were reportedly taken an hour before the show.
Eastwood appeared in good spirits during the sighting. He wore dark slacks, a green-and-orange plaid button-up and a two-toned lightweight jacket. His beard was longer than usual.
On the other hand, Goodall opted for a black turtleneck and black pants. She also wore a colorful shawl printed with a feather design.
One attendee from the event also shared a snap of the pair on LinkedIn.
"Went to see Jane Goodall speak in Carmel. At 90 years old, she is truly a saint," Fred Greenstein, a strategy consultant to retirement plan advisors, wrote in the caption. "Shared lessons from living with apes and her passion for protecting the planet. Talking with Jane here is a very disheveled Clint Eastwood."

According to the Daily Mail, despite Eastwood's popularity in Hollywood, his personal life wasn't as successful. He was embroiled in multiple scandals, went through failed marriages, faced infidelity allegations and fathered eight children from six different women. However, he was reportedly a good dad.
He raised his children away from the spotlight on a ranch in Carmel, California. They were reportedly surrounded by nature and animals, and he encouraged them to build their own careers.
"There were no handouts. It wasn't like that," his son Scott said in an interview with ROUTE magazine. "It was like, 'Get a job. You want something, go out and get a job and make a career for yourself.'"
His daughter, Morgan, also shared the same sentiment. According to her, she had an "average" childhood growing up.
"I had an average American childhood for the most part," she told Marcella NYC. "I think a big part of that was due to being raised in a small town away from the spotlight."
Per Page Six, Eastwood was last photographed in public in November 2023. He was reportedly shooting a new project at the time.
