Morgan Wallen's Fans React To Tweet About Nashville Arrest: 'Drop The Posty Song I'll Forgive You'
Morgan Wallen broke his silence two weeks after he got arrested in Nashville, admitting he wasn't proud of what he did.
The 30-year-old singer and songwriter took to X, formerly Twitter, and spoke about his recent arrest. He admitted his shortcomings and assured his fans that his tour would proceed as scheduled.
"I didn't feel right publicly checking in until I made amends with some folks. I've touched base with Nashville law enforcement, my family, and the good people at Chief's. I'm not proud of my behavior, and I accept responsibility," Wallen wrote.
"I have the utmost respect for the officers working every day to keep us all safe. Regarding my tour, there will be no change. -MW," he added in a separate tweet.
Several fans were pleased to hear from him, and many expressed their support, even encouraging him to move forward. However, some jokingly said they would only forgive the artist if he could release his untitled song with Post Malone, which they have been waiting to drop for weeks.
"All can be forgiven, only if you drop that song you made with
@PostMalone," one commented.
Another added, "If you drop the Posty song I'll forgive you."
"Drop the song with post and we'll call it even," a third person opined with shaking hands emoji.
Malone shared a clip of the still-untitled song on Instagram in March and tagged Wallen. Fans loved the music and had been waiting for its release since. It was visibly a hit because the unofficial lyric video uploaded on YouTube by BangersOnly has already gained 2.3 million views as of this writing.
"It takes two to break a heart in two / Oh-Oh baby, you blame baby and me, I blame you / Aw if that ain't the truth, I had some help," read a portion of the lyrics.
"It ain't like I can make this kind of mess all by myself / Don't act like you ain't helped me pull that bottle off the shelf / Been deep in every weekend if you couldn't tell they say, 'Teamwork makes the dreamwork' / Hell, I had some help."
Meanwhile, many fans also expressed their undying support for the singer. Several praised Wallen's recent move and said they would remain his fans because they love his music.
"It takes a strong person to recognize a fault so hold your head up and continue making GREAT music. Also, make sure you always thank the police officers for their service -- they go through a lot," one wrote.
"Relax Brother!! Just learn from it! Everyone makes mistakes. Keep doing what you do. Blessings," another commented.
A third person opined. "we are still your fans, Morgan!!"
The "Wasted on You" singer was arrested on April 7 for flinging a chair from a rooftop bar. He was charged with three counts of reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. He was released the following day after paying the $15,250 bond.
An unnamed source claimed he was upset after learning that his baby mama, KT Smith, eloped with Luke Scornavacco with their 3-year-old son Indigo on April 3, just five days after they announced their engagement. Her marriage reportedly "crushed" the musician.
However, Smith denied the allegations that Wallen's act had something to do with her. She also hoped it was just a "slip-up" and Morgan would "return to the good path."
"Although it may seem like it correlates because of the timeline," she told The Daily Beast, "I have no evidence to believe the incident had anything to do with the recent marriage announcement."
