Cannes Security Guard Clashes With K-Pop Star Yoona After Kelly Rowland, Massiel Taveras
The Cannes Film Festival security guard who clashed with Kelly Rowland has been put on blast once more over her treatment of another star, Korean singer and actress Yoona.
In a now-viral video on X, formerly Twitter, Yoona turned around to pose for photos and wave to fans after arriving at the top of the iconic red Palais des Festivals staircase.
However, the K-Pop star, who looked stunning in a pink Monique Lhuillier gown, was stopped by the female security guard.
The staffer put an arm in front of Yoona -- who was invited to attend the festival as the ambassador for the jewelry brand Qeelin -- to block her and rushed her off the stairs.
While she did not complain or express any anger, Yoona appeared visibly frustrated as she walked away.
Commenting on X, fans praised Yoona for how she handled the situation and slammed the security guard for her allegedly disrespectful actions.
"You could tell Yoona's pissed but she handled it with grace and class," one person commented.
Another wrote, "Yoona was too kind with it, [I] would be fuming."

"She should be let go immediately," a third user declared, while another accused the staffer of being "racist."
However, others defended the security guard and pointed out that she was simply doing her job.
Another Cannes' attendee, Ukrainian model Sawa Pontyjska, also called out the same security guard, whose name has not been revealed but who is said to be a French woman.
Pontyjska shared a video on TikTok showing her being dragged away by the worker as the model tried to get back on the stairs.
The security guard earlier went viral after Rowland had a heated exchange with her on the Cannes red carpet on May 21.
Rowland later seemingly accused the worker of racism, telling the Associated Press that she was treated differently from other stars "who did not quite look like" her.
"The woman knows what happened. I know what happened," the singer said. "I have a boundary, and I stand by those boundaries, and that is it."
Following the incident with Rowland, another video of the security guard went viral, this time showing her clashing with Dominican actress Massiel Taveras.
However, some of the staffer's colleagues have since defended her.
A longtime Cannes worker, who was not named, told the Daily Mail that the security guard was "only doing her job," which required her to "keep people on the carpet moving" in order to avoid "crowds building up."
"There was no pushing or shoving, or scolding," the Cannes staffer said.
"Security and safety are the priorities, along with keeping to strict timetables set according to contracts -- even the celebrities have to stick to the rules."
The worker added, "Suggestions of racism are just ridiculous -- visitors, and indeed staff at Cannes come from all kinds of backgrounds, and none are discriminated against."
