Shiloh Jolie-Pitt Officially Filed To Drop Dad Brad Pitt's Name On 18th Birthday
Shiloh Jolie-Pitt is officially dropping her dad, Brad Pitt's surname from her legal name, according to a report.
Angelina Jolie's daughters, Zahara and Vivienne, previously dropped Pitt's family name on separate occasions. Shiloh, Jolie and Pitt's firstborn child, has also removed Pitt from her Instagram handle, but she wants to make everything official.
According to the court documents obtained by TMZ, Shiloh wants her name to be changed from "Shiloh Jolie-Pitt" to "Shiloh Jolie."
The outlet also noted that the filing happened on Monday, Memorial Day, the same day she celebrated her 18th birthday. Shiloh's request to drop her dad's last name has yet to be granted. However, the outlet is optimistic that it's just a matter of time before she officially gets rid of "Pitt" from her legal name.
Jolie and Pitt share six children -- Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and 15-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox. Maddox reportedly doesn't use "Pitt" in his last name anymore. Vivienne also dropped her dad's surname in a playbill for the Broadway musical "The Outsiders," which her mom, Jolie, produced. Vivienne also served as a producer assistant for the play.
Zahara, likewise, got rid of Pitt's name when she joined the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority at Spelman College in November 2023. She introduced herself as "Zahara Marley Jolie" at the time.
"My name is Zahara Marley Jolie. And [I] landed all the way from the Golden State in the city full of angels: Los Angeles, California," she said in a video obtained by Essence.
TMZ, however, noted that among Pitt and Jolie's children, only Shiloh seemed to have made the legal move for her new name to be official.
The report about Shiloh's filing came after another source claimed that she was not trying to hurt her dad by ditching his last name in her Instagram handle. The insider alleged that there was no drama between the father and daughter.
Shiloh "is not trying to hurt her dad's feelings," the tipster told Life & Style. "She has sympathy that he's estranged from some of her siblings, but she idolizes her mom and is just doing what feels comfortable."
