Jake Paul should fight a boxer his age or younger and not Mike Tyson, who is 30 years his senior, according to social media users.

Paul and Tyson's July 20 face-off in the boxing ring got postponed after the latter had a medical emergency. In a video uploaded on X, formerly Twitter, Paul shared that he was "heartbroken" that the fight was delayed. According to him, they worked so hard for it.

"I just felt bad for everyone involved in this event, the whole undercard. This opportunity has been ripped from all of us," he said. "But I do value Mike's health, first and foremost. Love that guy. I have so much respect for him, and I want Mike to be healthy."

Paul noted that he would be ready when Tyson is ready. The post received several responses, with one social media user saying, "The fight should be OFF, not postponed." The same person questioned the 27-year-old's motivation to fight Tyson, 57.

Several social media users recommended a potential opponent for Paul instead of Tyson. Many had one person in mind -- 25-year-old Ryan Garcia.

"Fight @RyanGarcia ... problem solved!" one suggested. Another added, "Sub in Ryan Garcia for Mike. It just makes too much sense for everyone other than Jake Paul."

"@jakepaul vs @RyanGarcia. Come on now, it's that easy to make it something worth watching," a third person tweeted.

"Fight @RyanGarcia if you're a real boxer," someone else said.

Several online users also reminded Paul to just fight Garcia since the latter previously expressed interest in stepping in in case Tyson couldn't make it.

"Why not fight Ryan Garcia? He's offering to step in," one person commented.

Another added, "@RyanGarcia wanted the fight. Looks like you're scared."

After Tyson's medical emergency was reported, Garcia shared a screenshot of a direct message he had sent Paul. "If you down to fight. If Mike can't do it. Let me know, I will fill in," Garcia's message to Paul read.

"Jakey boo," he captioned the screenshot he shared on X.

Garcia's tweet received mixed responses, with many supporting his suggestion.

"Jake Paul vs Ryan Garcia sounds like an interesting fight," someone wrote on X.

Another person commented, "He only fights retired fighters or nonboxers."

"He's too soft, he wouldn't accept the fight!" another said, suggesting Paul would likely turn down Garcia's offer.

"He agreed to fight Mike Tyson's (sic) that's not anything anyone would just do," another user said, defending Paul.

Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) released a statement announcing the delay of Tyson and Paul's fight set in July.

"The upcoming anticipated boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson will unfortunately be postponed," the announcement read. "During a follow-up consultation on Thursday with medical professionals on his recent ulcer flare-up, the recommendation is for Mike Tyson to do minimal to light training over the next few weeks and then return to full training with no limitations."

According to the MVP, both agreed to delay the scheduled fight. They reportedly wanted each other to be in good condition with "equal training time" when they face off in the ring.

"Both Mike and Jake are in agreement that it is only fair to ensure that both athletes have equal training time to prepare for this important match and are able to compete at the highest level," MVP added.

A new date will be announced on June 7.
