Prince William's Hobby That Filled Kate Middleton With Horror Resurfaces: 'I'm Going To Keep George From It'
Kate Middleton once spoke about her husband Prince William's hobby that made her wince.
The Prince and Princess of Wales made their first official visit to Dundee in 2015. During their trip to Scotland's fourth-largest city, they took the time to meet with the well-wishers, and one asked her if Prince William still rode his motorcycle. In a resurfaced report, Middleton confirmed that the heir apparent was still into riding and shared how this hobby made her feel.
"He's still riding it. It always fills me with horror when he goes out on it," Middleton said about Prince William's hobby, per the Mirror. "I'm terrified. Hopefully, I'm going to keep George off it."
At the time, the future king and queen were already parents of two -- Prince George was only 2, and Princess Charlotte was only a few months old. Prince William and Middleton welcomed their third child, Prince Louis, in 2018.
The outlet noted that the Duke of Cambridge gained his motorbike license when he was 19. A few years after Middleton aired her concerns about her husband's hobby, Prince William admitted that he scaled back his rides.
In June 2018, when Prince William visited the Isle of Man TT Races for the annual motorcycle race. The royal was ecstatic when he had the chance to sit on a hand-built Norton SG7 with a top speed of 208 mph, GoodtoKnow reported.
King Charles' eldest son shared that he "absolutely loves" his biking trips and missed them as his priority shifted to his growing family. However, he still occasionally managed to take his Ducati out for a spin.
"I'm a father of three; I have to tone it down," Prince William said. "I miss the big trips, for me biking was always about being with everybody else."
One asked Prince William about his wife's reaction when he told her that he was attending the event.
"When I said I was going to the Isle of Man for an official visit, she said, 'really?'" Prince William shared.
In the same event, Middleton's husband also reminisced about biking with his younger brother, Prince Harry. According to him, when they were younger, they would ride scramblers and "basically try and hit each other."
Triple World Superbike champion Jonathan Rea also shared a conversation he had with Prince William about riding big bikes. The latter reportedly told the 2017 superbike champ that he put his interest in riding "on the back burner" for his family.
"I know he's a bit of a motorcycle fan himself," Rea told the Press Association about what Prince William shared with him. "We talked about his bikes and the fact that he has put it on the back-burner a little bit because of his children now."
