Prince William Shares Update On Kate Middleton's Health Amid Cancer Battle
Prince William has shared how his wife Kate Middleton's health journey has been going amid her cancer treatment.
The Prince of Wales stepped out Wednesday to visit veterans at the 80th anniversary of the D-Day Landings in Portsmouth, England, alongside his father King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
Asked by a veteran how Middleton was doing amid her cancer battle, Prince William responded, "She is better, thanks," as seen in a video shared on X, formerly Twitter.
"[Kate] would have loved to be here today," the royal added.
Prince William also talked about Princess Kate's grandmother Valerie Middleton, who once served as a codebreaker at the historic World War II spy base Bletchley Park.
"I was reminding everyone her grandmother served at Bletchley Park," the heir to the British throne said. "So, she had quite a few in common with some of the ladies here who were at Bletchley."
Prince William had earlier spoken to one of the women about Middleton's late grandmother, who passed away in 2006.
"My wife's grandmother did the same sort of thing as you," the Prince of Wales shared, according to GB News. "Catherine only found out at the end of her life."
Prince William shared a similar positive update about his wife's health during a royal engagement last month.
While visiting St. Mary's Community Hospital in the Isles of Scilly, the prince said that Middleton was "doing well" as she continues to undergo chemotherapy.
Middleton has not been photographed in public since releasing a video message in March to announce her cancer diagnosis.
In the video, which was shared on the Waleses' social media pages, Middleton said she would return to public duties as soon as she was able but was focusing on completing her treatment for now.
Reports have since surfaced that Middleton likely won't take on any royal engagements until the fall or even next year.
In response to the speculation, Kensington Palace recently gave a rare update on Middleton.
"We have been really clear that [Kate] needs the space and the privacy to recover right now," a palace spokesman said in a statement obtained by Us Weekly. "She will return to work when she has had the green light from doctors."
