Single Dad Eminem 'Loved To Be In A Relationship' But 'Scarred For Life': Report
Eminem has no plans to return to the dating game ever after his failed marriage to Kim Scott, according to a source.
Eminem -- real name Marshall Bruce Mathers III -- was present when his daughter Hailie Jade Mathers wed her husband, Evan McClintock, last month. The father and daughter also shared a dance. In the photos obtained by TMZ, the duo was noticeably enjoying their moment together, with the bride flashing a big smile.
However, despite seeing his daughter enjoying her love life, Eminem has no plans to date again as he "is too paranoid to give any woman a shot," a source told In Touch.
"He just can't bring himself to trust anyone enough to open up to them. But his friends know that deep down he'd love to be in a relationship. It's really sad to see him so lonely -- they wish he'd let his guard down and open up to finding love again," the insider added.
The Grammy winner hasn't been in a serious relationship following his tumultuous split from his ex-wife, Scott. They married and divorced twice. They tied the knot in 1999 and divorced in 2001. They reconciled and married again in 2006 but divorced in the same year.
They met in 1988 as teenagers at a house party and had an on-again, off-again relationship for nearly two decades before they split for good in 2006. He drew inspiration from their romance in some of his songs like "Kim," "97 Bonnie & Clyde," and "Love The Way You Lie" featuring Rihanna. However, not all songs painted her in the best light, People reported.
The song "Love the Way You Lie" was about being trapped within an abusive, love-hate relationship. Eminem approached Rihanna for a collab and the latter admitted that the song resonated with her. In 2009, Chris Brown made headlines for assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Rihanna.

"It's something that, you know, [Eminem and I have] both experienced, you know, on different sides, different ends of the table," Rihanna told Access Hollywood. "It just was authentic. It was real. It was believable for us to do a record like that, but it was also something that needed to be done, and the way he did it was so clever. He pretty much just broke down the cycle of domestic violence, and it's something that a lot of people don't have a lot of insight on, so this song is a really, really powerful song, and it touches a lot of people."
Eminem was catapulted to fame when he released "The Slim Shady LP" in February 1999. The album featured some tracks where he fantasized about killing Scott. "97 Bonnie & Clyde" included a graphic imagery of it. The song was about Eminem talking to her daughter Hailey about Kim and his plans to kill her.
In 2000, Eminem claimed he saw Scott kissing a man named John Guerra. In the same year, she attempted to take her own life after his concert when she witnessed him performing the song "Kim," another track about hurting her, and the people singing along with the rapper.
"Seeing the crowd's response and everybody cheering, singing the words and laughing, and it just felt like everyone was staring at me. I knew that it was about me," Kim recounted the incident in 2007.
Despite their ups and downs in the early 2000s, Scott and Eminem remarried in January 2006 but split again after three months. The exes share Hailie. Eminem also adopted her daughter, Whitney, and niece, Alaina.
