Jennifer Lopez's Ex Alex Rodriguez Allegedly 'Waiting' For Her Marriage To 'Crash And Burn' After Being Dumped For Ben Affleck
One of Jennifer Lopez's exes was allegedly pleased about her marital strife with Ben Affleck, according to a source.
Lopez, 54, and Rodriguez, 48, were together for four years. They were engaged to be married but postponed their wedding due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They then split for good in April 2021. Shortly after their breakup, the "Marry Me" actress wasted no time reconciling with her other ex -- Affleck -- whom she eventually married in 2022. For weeks, there have been rumors suggesting that Lopez and Affleck are having a marital crisis, and Rodriguez is allegedly pleased with the news.
"To see [Jen] getting some karma for her actions is pretty sweet, even if [A-Rod] wouldn't admit that publicly," an unnamed source told In Touch. "His friends all know he's been waiting for things with her and Ben to crash and burn."
The tipster claimed that the athlete had a hard time following their breakup. Her reconciliation with Affleck just weeks after they broke up reportedly made it even harder for him.
"Alex fell apart when J.Lo ran off with Ben," the insider added. "He felt like she tossed him out with the trash when she got a better offer from Ben, and it did a huge number on him. He went from planning a wedding to watching her marry someone else in what felt like the blink of an eye. It was the worst year of his life, and to make things ten times worse, J.Lo didn't have an ounce of empathy for him. She flaunted her romance with Ben every chance she got."
The source added that the former baseball pro has already moved on with Jaclyn Cordeiro, and he is "beyond happy" with her. They started dating in October 2022. The insider also claimed that Rodriguez "dodged a bullet" by not marrying the "Let's Get Loud" singer.
Lopez and Rodriguez released a joint statement via the "Today" show on April 15, 2023, to announce their separation after being together for four years.
"We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so. We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects," they said.
"We wish the best for each other and one another's children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support."
On April 30 of the same year, Lopez and Affleck were seen hanging out together in Los Angeles. However, sources told Page Six at the time that the two were just "friends."
However, on July 24, 2021, Lopez made her relationship with Affleck Instagram official when she shared a carousel of photos to mark her 52nd birthday. The last snap showed her and Affleck kissing, People reported.
Lopez and Affleck recently fueled the divorce rumors after putting their marital house for sale. Per TMZ, they tapped realtor Santiago Arana from The Agency to sell the $60 million mansion they spent nearly two years to find as their love nest. The move prompted many to believe that divorce was "imminent."
Affleck's ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, seemingly hinted at the same issue when she shared a cryptic post featuring a short poem on her Instagram Stories. The poem by Cleo Wade was about overcoming adversity.
