Prince Harry's Allegation Queen Camilla Will Take Dad King Charles 'Away' Resurfaces Amid Fight To Reconnect With Father
Prince Harry once feared that his stepmom, Queen Camilla, would take his father, King Charles, away from him.
The Duke of Sussex made several stirring revelations about the members of the British royal family in his book "Spare." Among the persons he mentioned was his stepmom, Camilla. His concern about their wedding, which he covered in detail in his 2023 memoir, has resurfaced. In the book, Prince Harry admitted what he felt about his dad's second marriage, years after his mom, Princess Diana, died in a fatal car crash in Paris.
"I knew without question that this marriage would take Pa away from us. Not in any real sense, not in any deliberate or malicious way, but nevertheless -- away. He was entering a new space, a closed space, a tightly insular space," he wrote, per OK! magazine.
Prince Harry also claimed that he and his big brother, Prince William, asked their dad not to marry Camilla. However, they eventually supported His Majesty's decision because they "wanted him to be happy and saw how happy he was with her."
The Duke of Sussex also made several allegations against Camilla in his book. He alleged that she "sacrificed me on her personal PR altar." Additionally, he called Camilla a "villain" and the "third person" in his parent's marriage. Prince Harry also deemed Camilla "dangerous."
"That made her dangerous because of the connections that she was forging within the British press. And there was open willingness on both sides to trade of information. And with a family built on hierarchy, and with her, on the way to being Queen Consort, there was gonna be people or bodies left in the street because of that," Prince Harry said in his interview with Anderson Cooper for "60 Minutes" days before the release of his book.
Prince Harry's words against Camilla in his book strained his relationship with his dad. An unnamed source recently told Closer magazine that he badly wants to reconcile with his father. He allegedly even planned to spend his 40th birthday in the U.K.
"He's planning a trip over to the UK anyway to look for a new home and celebrate his 40th birthday, so it'll be easy enough for him to drop by. He's fired up and vowing not to be kept away from his father forever," the source claimed.
King Charles didn't meet Prince Harry when he traveled to the United Kingdom in March because of his "full program." However, a friend of King Charles and Camilla blamed the younger royal for allegedly forcing his dad to choose between him and his wife.
"Harry has made things very difficult for himself by saying such cruel and hurtful things about Camilla," the friend told the Daily Beast. "Charles loves his sons, but he also loves his wife.
The source added, "Harry has made it very clear, very publicly, that he despises her. He has forced Charles to choose, which was a very silly thing to do because Camilla and he both chose each other a long time ago."
King Charles and Queen Camilla stepped out publicly as a couple two years after Princess Diana's death. The late Princess of Wales died in August 1997. They announced their engagement nearly eight years after her passing in February 2005 and tied the knot in April of the same year.
