Meghan Markle Finds It 'Frustrating' Prince Harry Is 'Pushing His Luck' With Royal Family
Prince Harry is stretching himself thin just to reconcile with his family, and his wife, Meghan Markle, is not happy about it, according to a source.
The Duke of Sussex has been open about wanting to mend his relationship with his family. However, King Charles and Prince William have reportedly been ignoring him, so he allegedly planned to spend his 40th birthday in the United Kingdom in the hopes that they would finally meet him. However, insiders claimed that his efforts might have already upset Markle, and this might put a strain on their marriage.
"It's frustrating for Meghan because he's stretching himself so thin as it is, the last thing he needs is the distraction of this trip taking more of his time and attention away," an unnamed source told Closer.
"Especially when most people agree it's a futile cause that's most likely just going to leave him more upset and stressed. Plenty of people in his life are warning him off this plan, not just Meghan. They worry it will make things worse with his family because it's exactly the sort of hot-headed behaviour they abhor."
According to the tipster, the Duchess of Sussex was "trying to be supportive." However, she was worried that it wasn't a "healthy road" for her husband. Also, it is reportedly unlikely for King Charles and Prince William to change their calendar only because Prince Harry is there.
"The odds that his family is going to suddenly change their tune just because Harry shows up in person are not high, to say the least. He's been over there already and couldn't get the time of day from any of them, not even his dad, so it's hard to understand why he thinks this trip is going to be different," the source continued.
Prince Harry was allegedly "tired of waiting," so he couldn't just sit, follow the protocol and wait for their invite anymore, which was reportedly the "more advisable route to take." Prince William's brother now wants to take action, and he is allegedly convinced they would forgive him if he asked for a heartfelt apology.
"He's consumed with the idea that he can throw himself at his family's feet and fix this feud," the tipster said.
"He's convinced that if he gives them a true and heartfelt apology, they won't be able to stay angry with him. But that doesn't mean they're going to welcome him with open arms. Camilla is so protective of Charles; odds are Harry won't get even a minute alone with his dad. And William is bound to be even colder. He's pushing his luck by taking a bulldozer style approach to this."
Prince Harry allegedly did everything to score an invite to this year's Trooping the Colour. However, he didn't get any.
Christopher Andersen, a royal author and commentator, recently weighed in on Prince Harry's relationship with his dad and brother. According to the author of "The King: The Life of Charles III," Prince Harry was getting "angrier and more frustrated" that they were "stonewalling" him.
Prince Harry had a tense relationship with his family when he and his wife decided to quit their royal duties and moved to California in 2020. Their relationship with his family worsened following their 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, 2022 Netflix docuseries "Harry & Meghan" and his 2023 memoir "Spare," where they made several statements against the royal family.
Now, both King Charles and Prince William are allegedly refusing to talk to him. One source said the Prince of Wales decided to cut ties with his younger brother because it was easier than getting annoyed at him repeatedly.
